Certified Radon Mitigation
Radon is a radioactive gas. It is colorless, odorless, and tasteless. Unless tested for, there is no way of telling how much is present. The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. Only smoking causes more cases of lung cancer.
Nearly one out of every 15 homes has a radon level the EPA considers to be elevated. Most indoor radon comes into a building from the soil or rock beneath it. This means that the highest concentrations of the gas can be found in the lower levels of a home; basements or crawlspaces, as well as ground floors. Lowering high radon levels requires technical knowledge and special skills.
We are trained to determine if a mitigation system is necessary. We can easily install a system to suit your home or business. We use a sub-slab depressurization system that collects the gasses under the building in a low pressure zone, then we can pump the contaminated air out of the space. Before and after tests are used to ensure the space is within EPA recommended levels.
Do not underestimate the value of a simple test to ensure that your home or business is safe.
